International Enterprise (IE) Singapore is pleased to present a talk by Dr Thierry Apoteker, Chief Economist and Managing Director of TAC Financial Cracks in the BRICs? Outlook for Emerging Markets in 2011 Emerging markets have been unevenly affected by the global crisis in 2008-09, but most of them have shown a remarkable acceleration in activity and trade during the last months of 2009 and the first half of 2010. However, in a context of persistently subdued growth in industrialized countries and renewed fears of a potential “double dip” in the US or Europe, economic performances have started to change and diverge within the emerging world; tighter economic policies and more difficult cyclical management are creating new challenges for emerging economies, with visible signs of deceleration (China, Brazil), inflationary tensions (India, Russia) and potential multiplier effects through world trade dynamics. Based on TAC's powerful proprietary models and in-depth investigations in developed and emerging economies, Dr Thierry Apoteker will share his views on the critical questions that are relevant for defining and designing international strategies for the near term. Presentation Highlights 1. How real is the risk of double dip in mature economies? 2. Economic dynamics at a crossroad for emerging economies: compass needed for the next two years. 3. Identifying the most attractive markets through a detailed observation of trade trends. Who should attend? CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, Business analysts, Key decision-makers,and those who are looking to venture into overseas markets.
